Open Letter from Board Chair:
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Ten (10) Key Points:
Our Ancestors did. We ARE doing it again.
It is time. Humanity & Haiti is a call-out to those among us
Those of us who connect with the consciousness of the ancestors,
When Haiti had achieved independence, more than two hundred years ago, it redefined humanity. We have the opportunity and obligation to do it again today. But before we do, we must redefine what it means to be Haitian. When we define being Haitian means to function from one’s core, we will have the opportunity to help define humanity again.
This is humanity evolution:
This is the conversation I would like to have with you today. Humanity evolution is the movement to function from our core as the foundation of human culture. In this conversation, we can define ‘core’ as the faculty which connects us not just with each other but with the rest of the universe. I want to talk to you about each of our individual life purpose, and the unique role that Haiti can play in humanity evolution. <p > Many of us love Haiti a lot. But for many of Haiti is a lost cause. We came from being the first free black nation to where we are now. They used to call Haiti “The Pearl of the Antilles.” How did we get here? And what are we going to do to get out?<p >For most of us Haitians, Haiti’s social problems are the cause of most of our individual problems. This is particularly true for the Haitians still living in Haiti, and especially true for the youth, the generation which is coming, the 35year old generation.
The 35year old generation: What are the biggest causes of your life being where it is today?
Your life, where it is today, is it because you too stupid to do better?
Your life, where it is today, is it because you are too lazy to do better?
Your life, where it is today, is it because you are too irresponsible, you are too negligent to do better?
Our Ancestors told us WHAT to do. H & H will show you HOW to do it.
There are no universities in Haiti, nor in Santo Domingo, nor anywhere else in the world that has the knowledge to teach us the most important work have we to do, the work that the ancestors told us to do. Keep union. This work you are already qualified to do. Just as our Ancestors were, without any formal education.
Your life is not the way it is because you have no education, or you do not have a career. Your life is the way it is because Haiti is where it is.
I say to you: Your individual life problems are inextricably linked to the social problems of Haiti.
I ask you again: What good does it do you if you have a degree, and you do not find work?
What good will it does it do you if you find work, but you can only work for foreigners in your own country?
And who will spend millions and trillions in your country and leave it for you? What will be worth anything if Haiti no longer belongs to us?
We must marry these two objectives together: Our individual welfare and the welfare of Haiti. We must marry them every day in our lives. We must marry them in every way. We must marry them in all that we do. We must marry them socially and spiritually.
(Bis) It takes the silence and inaction of the majority to allow for the mentality of the minority to dominate.
(Bis) That is to say: The silence and inaction of the majority contribute to problems of Haiti at the same level of the actions of the malfeasants, the Haitian malfeasants, and the foreigner malfeasant.
Here is where we are: Any plan to help Haiti that does not include a strategy to wake up [tshatsha sound effect] and unite the majority of the Haitian people, is lacking. Not to say that any such efforts is demagogy, or it is self- interests that are being garnered. I will not be quick to say this.
If someone is serious about helping Haiti
This is a fundamental truth. It is an inconvenient truth. Only a unified Haitian people can have enough power to negotiate with forcefully with the international community. There no person, no commission, no government with enough power to do so at this point.
Only a unified Haitian people can have enough power to do this,
The problem is that at this point the Haitian people are not accessing the power. We are not unified. The connections among a people determined the power of a people. And now the Haitian bond, the Haitian connection is not strong enough. We have a lot of individual pride as Haitian. We are sorely lacking in collective pride, collective will.
Until we build the Haitian bond, nothing we do as a Haitian who has any value or effect.
This is a fundamental reality. It is a truth an inconvenient truth. Our fathers foretold us the importance of maintaining a strong union:”L'Union fait la force. “Union makes the force."
Our Ancestor told us WHAT to do. H & H will show you HOW.
